Part of our Full Day Itinerary in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park or available as a standalone excursion
Why Visit Phraya Nakhon Cave from Hua Hin
Located just south of Hua Hin, Phraya Nakhon Cave is widely regarded as the jewel of the region and one of the most iconic sightseeing spots near Hua Hin. If you’re looking for a standout attraction during your stay, this cave deserves a top place on your itinerary.

Tour Details & What to Bring
We provide a private door-to-door service from your hotel in Hua Hin, with flexible timing tailored to you.
What to wear & bring:
-
Closed-toe shoes or sporty sneakers (not flip-flops or sandals) – the hike is steep and rocky.
-
At least 2 bottles of water per person, and a towel if you like.
-
Depart no later than 8:00 a.m. to avoid the midday heat and large tour groups – you’ll enjoy the cave with more peace and better light.
How to Get There & Park Entrance
Our driver will drop you at the beach village of Bang Pu where you’ll purchase your park ticket (foreign adults: 200 THB, children: 100 THB).
From there you have two options:
-
Hike: Walk the ridge (~400 m) to Laem Sala beach, then proceed up the trail to the cave.
-
Boat + Hike: Take a short 10-minute boat ride to Laem Sala Beach and then trek to the cave entrance.
Keep your tickets — you might want to visit other areas of the national park later.

Arrival at Laem Sala Beach & Trail Notes
At Bang Pu you’ll get your ticket and boat number if you choose the boat option. At the beach, show the number to the staff holding a walkie-talkie and the boat will arrange pickup.
Note: The bay is shallow so you’ll wade in knee-deep water to board the boat. Roll up long trousers accordingly. At Laem Sala beach you’ll find a rinsing and shoe-change point before starting the main climb.
The Trail & Scenic Stop
The clearly marked path leads upward about 430 m and offers a stunning viewpoint halfway with panoramic views of Dolphin Bay and nearby islands.

Local macaque monkeys often appear on the trail – keep an eye on belongings. The final climb is the trickiest part, so take your time.

The Cave Moment
When you arrive inside the cave, you’ll reach the iconic royal pavilion built in 1890 for King Rama V (the Kuha Karuhas Pavilion).

Sunlight streams through the ceiling at the right time of day and bathes the pavilion in golden light – one of the most photographed spots in Thailand. On-site you’ll also find inscriptions from Thai kings on the cave wall, adding historical depth to the natural wonder.

We won’t spoil every detail: discovering it for yourself is part of the experience.

After the Cave: Beach Time & Lunch
On your return, take time to relax at the beautiful Laem Sala beach, use the clean restrooms and grab a snack or lunch at the café near the cave base. There is mobile coverage throughout, so you’re connected.

When ready to return, head to the beach hut and show your boat number again – you’ll be back at Bang Pu shortly. On arrival you’ll find changing/rinsing facilities before meeting your driver for the journey back to Hua Hin.
